Self-guided visits

Specific to preschool

Your visit is entirely independent. Go to the Toolbox to prepare your visit and hold all the cards. Discover also our Clues Hunt, dedicated to the youngest children and available on request! And to discover gently the museum, accompany the children by discovering together the Little Visitor’s Guide: what to do and not to do in the museum!

Specific to primary school

Borrow our pedagogical boxes to discover the museum differently! On request only and subject to acceptance according to the pedagogical project of the group.

Guided tours and workshops

MAMAC is a space dedicated to the discovery of postwar and contemporary art forms through playful activities, manual work, creations and games. The two-part visit allows students to meet the works in the museum and to learn about the practices and approaches of the artists in the studio space.

We propose themes of visits listed in our pedagogical sheets. Do not hesitate to mention your choice when you make your reservation. You can also adapt your school project with the educator!


Practical information

Guided tours with or without workshops take place from Tuesday to Friday during school time and last 1h to 1h30 hours for a maximum of 30 students per session. It is essential that you consult our educational information sheets beforehand.

Reservations

For the primary schools of metropolitan Nice, reservations are made via Grandir en culture. It is essential to request a visit to this platform in September-November of the school year concerned. Instructions for use are available on this site. Once your request has been made, the MAMAC team will contact you. avec vous.

If you have missed the registrations on the website, it is often difficult to get a place to visit for the current school year. Nevertheless, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write to us!

For primary schools outside metropolitan Nice, middle and high schools in Nice and elsewhere: We ask you from the first email contact to send us the following document duly completed (lien vers Toolbox /preliminary sheet for the visit Schools) in order for us to better evaluate your request. Upon receipt of this form, the education team will contact you to discuss your project and discuss conditions.

Key information

The museum’s entrance is located on place Klein, next to the entrance to the Louis Nucéra library.

Buses have a drop-off point located between MAMAC and Place Garibaldi, on Boulevard Risso. Buses cannot stay parked at this spot.

Note for accompanying persons: The accompanying person benefits from free admission to the museum at the rate of 1 accompanying person for the supervising of 8 participants.

Beyond this number, the accompanying person must pay the museum entrance fee of 10€ (except for free admission for individuals or accompanying persons).

It is mandatory to present yourself at the museum reception desk at the reserved time by presenting your reservation email. Coming early or late slows down the filtering of groups and causes delays for everyone. If you are late, call 04.97.13.42.01 (museum ticket office).

If the number of students or accompanying persons has changed since your booking, please inform the education team in advance.

Pupils must remain under the surveillance of the accompanying adults.

Please restrict the number of bags to ease the filtering process and storage at the entrance of the museum. Only small bags and pouches can be kept on you. Backpacks should be left at the museum’s cloakroom. This cloakroom is free of charge.

The group can only go in and out once during the day.

For the classes OUTSIDE metropolitan Nice Côte d’Azur: the amount is 20 euros the session!

Teacher training courses

Participate in training sessions and meetings dedicated to National Education teachers within the framework of each new temporary exhibition, in collaboration with the DAAC and the project managers.
