In 2016, MAMAC initiated a program of site-specific interventions, inaugurated with the reenactment of the Prototype improvisé de type « nuage » (improvised « cloud » prototype) by Yona Friedman.
In 2017, Vivien Roubaud is the second artist invited to deal with the history and architecture of the place.
Since 2010, Vivien Roubaud has been carrying out spectacular experiments using trivial materials: printers, chandeliers, brooms, motors, blowers, saw blades. Assembling those materials he creates mutant and dysfunctional systems producing incessant cyclic movements or encapsulating the instantaneity of dazzling natural phenomena.
At the Galerie des Ponchettes, the artist generates a climate, an artificial atmospheric environment on the scale of architecture in which a poetic prototype produced clouds and filaments of candy floss in suspension and perpetual mutation.
