The documentation center
The documentation center of the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Nice guaranties the good administration of contemporary art documentation. The main functions of this place of documentary research are collecting, dealing, classifying and transmitting information. Books, catalogues, magazines, newspapers, invitations, press releases : every information addressed to the museum is sorted, analyzed, listed and inserted in a documentary chain in order to :
* Have a specific control of the documentation of the museum: temporary exhibitions as well as the collections and the artistic actuality

* Constitute a solid documentation on the art of the 20th century : more than 15000 books, 30 titles of periodical publications, 30 stopped, a photographic background of the 60's on Nice's activities, videocassettes, slides of the collections, artists' records, a cultural magazine, the access to the Videomuseum where all the French public collections of the 20th century are computerized. The data are used by the conservation department of the museum for the organization of future exhibitions, in order to have information on artists, on cultural movements, on the collections. Professionals in museums and researchers also use them, three times a week: on Thuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., under appointment.

Ben is working on the glass cases for his exhibition "I'm looking for the truth".

The documentation center is also realising the glass cases of the permanent collection as well as of the temporary exhibitions. These glass cases are showing different documents : catalogues, photos, invitations and posters of the collection and of the documentation center; On the other hand, temporary exhibitions are organised with the help of the artists and their own documentation.
